Prof. YANG Xiaoyu is currently working in Computer Information Network Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He earned a PhD degree at De Montfort University, UK. He was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Earth Sciences Department，University of Cambridge, a Research Engineer at the School of Electronics and Computer Science, University Of Southampton, and a Research Fellow at the Reading e-Science Center, University of Reading. He serves as reviewers for several international journals and academic conferences (e.g., Future Generation Computer System).Prof. YANG’s research areas include materials informatics, material genome initiative informatics, scientific data and quality management, high-throughput material simulation and data infrastructure, X-informatics, product service system, etc. In recent years, he published about 20 articles in top international journals (e.g., The Royal Society Online Journals) and academic conferences, with a thematic coverage ranging from scientific data quality management, opportunities and challenges of cloud computing in e-Science, product service system, and material genome initiative informatics. Besides, Prof. YANG has three monographs in English. He received MSc and PhD scholarships from UK, and was awarded second prize at the “Chunhui Cup” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Contest for Overseas Chinese Scholars. Prof. YANG was also selected as a quality migrant by Quality Migrant Admission Scheme of Hong Kong (but he gave up going to Hong Kong and went back to the mainland of China in 2012).
