LI Yixue is Professor, PhD Supervisor and Director at the Big Data Center of Biomedical Sciences, CAS-MPG Partner Institute for Computational Biology, Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Prof. LI is also Director of Biomedical Sciences Department, Shanghai Industrial Technology Institute, President of Shanghai Center for Bioinformation Technology, Chair of the Department of Bioinformatics & Biostatistics, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Director of Shanghai Society for Bioinformatics, Head of the "Bioinformatics Technology" Panel of the 863 Plan “Biological and Agricultural Technology” Section, and Panelist of China’s 11th Five-Year 863 Plan in the field of bio-medical technology. Prof. LI received his doctoral degree in theoretical physics from the University of Heidelberg in Germany. Afterwards, he did post-doctoral research on computational mathematics in the University of Stuttgart from November 1996 to March 1997, and from April 1997 to June 2000, postdoctoral research on biophysics in European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL). Prof. LI is Chief Scientist of two major national projects on protein sciences: “Systems Biology Research of Model Organism and Cell Systems” and “Systems Biology Research of Signal Transduction Networks During Metabolic Activities and Pathological Processes”. He has published over 260 SCI-cited articles within his areas of expertise, and received prizes, titles or medals including: first and second prizes at Shanghai Natural Sciences Awards, first prize at the Ministry of Education Natural Sciences Awards, Leading Talent of the “Revitalizing Shanghai Through Science and Education” Program (first batch), Model Worker of Shanghai, and National May 1st International Labor’s Day Medal. Prof. LI is a scientist awarded special allowance by the State Council.
