WANG Xiujie is Professor and Director at the Research Center of Molecular Systems Biology, Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Besides, she serves as Chief Scientist for the National Major Scientific Research Program, and sits on the editorial boards of RNA Biology, BMC Genomics, Journal of Genetics and Genomics, etc.
Prof. WANG’s area of expertise centers around bioinformatics and systems biology. Particularly, she is interested in dissecting the functions and mechanisms related to non-coding RNAs and epigenetic modifications using combined approaches from bioinformatics and experimental biology, in tandem with computers’ strength in processing large-scale biological data. She received awards or grants from Prominent Youth Science Foundation of China, National Natural Science Awards of China (second prize), DuPont Young Scientist Awards, May 4th Youth Models of Central Government Organs, National Youth Post Experts, May 4th Youth Medals of China, May 1st Female Models of China, and Collective Awards of the CAS S&T Achievement Awards (as a co-awardee). Besides, Prof. WANG is on the list of the CAS 100-Talent Program and the Ministry of Science “Young and Middle-aged Leading Talents for S&T Innovation”.
