PI at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences
LIU Lei is PI at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences Fudan University. He is also a member of the International Society for Computational Biology, and an executive member of the Biomedical Information Technology Branch of China Medicinal Biotech Association. Dr. LIU sits on the board of the Biobank Branch of China Medicinal Biotech Association. He earned a doctoral degree in cell biology from the University of Connecticut, and was on the list of the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ “100 Talents Program” and Shanghai Municipality’s “Pujiang Talent Program”.
Dr. LIU’s research areas include biomedical informatics, systems biology, and big data mining. During the 11th Five-Year period, he chaired or participated in several medical informatization projects of the national “863” program. During the 12th Five-Year period, he had undertaken several “863” and “digital medical care” projects. Dr. LIU has a focus on biomedical informatics, and achieved a series of groundbreaking outcomes in such fields as omics data analysis and mining, biological network construction and analysis, biological system modeling and simulation, medical data sharing, integration and mining, clinical decision support and personalized medicine. Dr. LIU has published over 60 articles in SCI-indexed publications, owned more than 20 software copyright, and requested six patents.
