Abstract & Keywords
Abstract: The typhoon is a very destructive meteorological disaster, and the wind speed and direction, the air pressure and the wave height observation data show the movement path and intensity change of the typhoon. The dataset is based on the long-term processed typhoon observation data from 2010 to 2018 acquired by the buoys of Yellow Sea station & East China Sea Station of the Offshore Marine Observation and Research Network, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Yellow Sea station, East China Sea Station). The original data of dataset are processed according to buoy operation and maintenance records and the actual situation. In order to show the variation of the parameters during the typhoon more visually, 304 graphics of typhoon observation data are also provided. The dataset is mainly providing data support for typhoon base research, typhoon forecast, typhoon prevention decision and so on.

Dataset/Database compositionThe dataset consists of 2 subsets in total. It comprises table data and image data. The subsets are recorded as “Typhoon observation data of buoys in the Yellow Sea and East China Sea from 2010 to” and Image datasets of “Graphics of typhoon observation data of buoys in the Yellow Sea and East China Sea from 2010 to”: (1) The dataset is made up of 154 tables, named by year, typhoon and buoy, with a data volume of 1.6 MB; (2) Image dataset is made up of 304 images, which show long-term time series wind speed-direction & air pressure or wind speed-direction & wave height change, with a data volume of 103 MB. Every image is named by year, typhoon, buoy and parameter code.
