Abstract: China–Pakistan economic corridor passes through the Pamirs Plateau in the north, a place characterized by complex terrain and fragile ecological environment and frequented by diverse disasters. One of the major hydrologic meteorological disasters is glacier melt runoff caused by extreme temperature-rising, which draws attention of the scientific community. Based on the daily maximum temperature data observed by three meteorological stations at the Pamirs Plateau, we determined and calculated the indices of the extreme temperature-rising process over the Pamirs Plateau, including the temperature-rising dates, process (start and end dates, duration), ranges during different periods of each station. We also analyzed the change characteristics of the process to build the dataset for the extreme temperature-rising process from January 1, 1961 to December 31th 2017. This dataset is useful for research on the occurrence frequency and development trend of extreme temperature-raising events over Pamirs Plateau in the background of global warming. It also provides data support for early warning of extreme climates and flood disasters over the China-Pakistan economic corridor.

Dataset compositionThis dataset consists of 6 documents in CSV format, including 3 temperature-rising process documents and 3 extreme temperature-rising process documents. Files of this dataset are named after their index names in English. Temperature-rising process file named by the “Temperature-rising” + WMO Number + “1961-2017”. Temperature-rising process file consists of GCCR (year, month, day), GCZR (year, month, day), CXRS, FD, TG, JP, FD24, FD48 and FD72 in each station. Each file has a slightly different data volume depending on the number of temperature-rising process and the year of observation. The amount of uncompressed data is about 253-282 KB. Extreme temperature-rising process file named by the “extreme_temperature_rising_process_PER05_WMO Number_1961_2017”, and it consists of above 13 index and IZ4 in each station. Each file has a slightly different data volume depending on the number of temperature-rising process and the year of observation. The amount of uncompressed data is about 15-17 KB.
